Installation

System requirements

• Mac: Apple Silicon
• macOS: 11 Big Sur or later
• Disk space: ~200 MB for the app; language servers download on demand into ~/.kora/lsp/

Install the app

Download the installer from kora-ai.download/release/latest.

1. Open the downloaded .dmg file.
2. Drag Kora into the Applications folder.
3. Launch Kora from Applications (or Spotlight).
4. If macOS blocks the app, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.

Gatekeeper blocks the app on first launch

If Open Anyway is not available, run this command in Terminal and launch Kora again:

xattr -cr /Applications/Kora.app

After Kora opens, continue with First launch. To install a later release, see Update Kora.

Troubleshooting

• Kora does not open → use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, or run xattr -cr /Applications/Kora.app.
• Kora is still running from Downloads → quit it, move Kora.app into /Applications, and open it from there.
• The installer is for an unsupported Mac → the current download is for Apple Silicon; confirm the Mac uses an Apple chip.
