Set reasoning effort

When the selected model exposes reasoning levels, Kora enables the Effort control next to the model selector in the chat composer. The available values depend on the model.

Change the effort

1. Select a model in the chat composer.
2. Click Effort.
3. Choose one of the available levels.
4. Send the next message. Kora applies the selected value to that model.

The selected level is saved per model. Switching models restores the value last selected for each one.

Note

The control remains visible but disabled with the value default when the model does not expose selectable reasoning levels.

Troubleshooting

• Effort is disabled → the selected model does not expose selectable reasoning levels.
• The previous value reappears → effort is stored per model; use the dropdown to change that model’s saved value.
• The provider ignores the selected level → refresh the provider models and confirm the model still advertises that effort value.
