Use the adaptive composer layout

Kora measures the available width of the active chat panel. When editors, terminals, or Explorer panels make it narrow, the layout adapts without changing your saved sidebar preference.

What changes in a narrow chat

• The Project/Session sidebar temporarily changes from its full width to a compact 144 px rail.
• When enough space returns, Kora restores the preceding manual sidebar state.
• A safety margin prevents repeated layout changes while you resize the window.
• If the compact rail is still insufficient, composer configuration controls move to a second row; Send and Stop remain available.

The behavior considers only the active chat, not hidden or background panels. It affects the Project/Session sidebar only — it does not automatically collapse File Explorer or terminal panels.

Restore the File Explorer width

Double-click the divider immediately to the left of File Explorer to restore its configured width, or the default width when no preference is set.

Troubleshooting

• The sidebar is compact → the active chat is short on space. Close or resize a neighboring panel; Kora restores the prior state automatically.
• The composer controls use two rows → even the compact rail does not leave enough width. Widen the chat panel or close a neighboring panel.
• Explorer is too narrow after resizing → double-click its left divider to restore the configured width.
